by his own daughter, called out as racist, disgraced and elderly Tory MP Wally
retreats to his crumbling home by the sea, waiting for the end, lost in
memories of his dead wife. Five years later there is a knock on the door, and he
reluctantly gives sanctuary to his long estranged daughter, Maddy, the author
of his misfortune, herself fleeing an abusive relationship, together with his
granddaughter Sophie. The play explores subconscious racial
prejudice over three generations of one family, challenging the blunt denial
and exposing the ‘white male frailty’ of this archetypal grumpy granddad.
An exciting new updated version has been developed with new set and cast. PERFORMANCES BEGIN September in Plymouth UK, then a tour of the USA.

It was the dinner that changed history: the night in February 2016 when Boris Johnson decided to vote ‘leave’. Stranded on the ice in the middle of the Southern Ocean for over a year with no way to get a message home, Shackleton and his crew set out on their epic tale of survival against the odds. After the sinking of their ship, the Endurance, their mission becomes to find a way home before they succumb to the fate of many Antarctic explorers before them.
With supplies running low, and the ice melting around them, they have nothing but three small boats, their good spirits and Shackleton to turn their fate around. This extraordinary journey uses the power of theatre to bring you into the lives, loves and spirit of these men as they endure the ultimate test of the human spirit.
Both Acts are set in various locations around London and Antarctica. The timeline in Act 1 jumps between the narrative on the ice, and events that led to the Endurance first setting sail from London. At the end of Act 1, the timelines meet and we see the action in both London and Antarctica at the same time. Act 2 opens with a dramatic retelling of the Journey of the Caird from 3 perspectives, then continues a progressive narrative, following three groups in parallel – the Ladies in London, the Elephant Island Crew and Shackleton’s rescue mission.
